Add a bit of hear to your Venezuelan breakfast: Bollitos Picantes / Spicy bollos
A bollito is a traditional Christmas breakfast made of masa (dough) mixed with a combination of veggies, beef, chicken, pork, raisins and olives, and these have a touch of spice to make them a little hot.
Ideally you have them for breakfast but it can be eaten at anytime of the day.
The corn masa becomes firmer when steamed. Our traditional bollitos are tied with a simple knot.

Our Spicy bollitos are shipped frozen. Upon receipt you should place them immediately in the freezer.
Add to boiling water directly from the freezer for 35 to 40 minutes, turning them every so often during cooking. Remove, let stand upright to drain excess water for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove the banana leaf, serve immediately. Merry Christmas, enjoy your spicy bollitos!
