Ultra premium agave liquor, carefully crafted by the oldest Cocuy factory in the country since 1972 where the green agaves are harvested from the same 120 years old farm. Cocuy Is a close relative to the Mexican agave. Its grows in arid a semi-arid zones of Venezuela, it is handpicked before dawn and transported down from the mountains by donkeys also linked to the ancients tribes of Venezuela creating a smooth and complex celebration of cultural heritage and passion for our motherland.
Its made by using ancestral methods by hand in very small quantities (approx 16.80 Kg makes 1 ltr of Cocuy) and takes 7 to 8 years for the green agave from planting to reach maturity. Its flavour resembles a less smokey mezcal (cooked underground for 5 to 6 days) but smoother and with a herbaceous and sweeter taste.
Aged for 5 to 8 (plus) months in Canadian oak barrels.
